I’ve been joyfully supporting families for over 20 years as a yoga teacher, child advocate, doula and therapist.

I began teaching yoga in 2000 after having my second baby. My yoga practice, including mindfulness, saved me as a new mom and greatly impacted my parenting.

The effect was so profound I began specializing in Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga and have been training teachers for over 10 years.

I became certified at the 500 hour level in 2003, have earned advanced accreditations from Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500, RPYT, and YACEP) and have trained in Yoga Therapy for 2 years.

In 2012, I became a birth doula, registered by DONA International.

Prior to teaching yoga I worked as a therapist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and grief counselor at Peter’s Place, applying my Master’s in Drama Therapy from NYU. Throughout this time I’ve been a court appointed special advocate through CASA Youth Advocates.

As a teacher I want to do whatever possible to break down barriers of access to yoga practice and to quality pre & postnatal care, in small part by speaking to the discrepancies our system of class and race have on birth in my teaching, and advocating for all families. 10% of my teaching profits will go to Black Mamas Matter Alliance who ‘envision a world where Black moms have the rights, respect, and resources to thrive before, during and after pregnancy and the Maternity Care Coalition whose mission is to ‘ improve the health and well-being of pregnant women and parenting families, and enhance school readiness for children 0-3.’

My gratitude for my teachers is immense. I honor and give credit to the teaching lineage from Shri Yogendra in Classical Hatha Yoga through YogaLife Institute.  I fulfilled a dream and had the honor of studying with Hansaji Jayadeva Yogendra along with other Indian teachers and students at The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, India last year.
