Creating a daily intention for you and your baby
It’s so easy to get caught up in the millions of demands of family and work and forget about higher self. But if you can take just a few moments to set an intention and fully breath into your mind and body, that connection to something higher, will make meeting those demands so much easier and more fulfilling.
Did you know that women who reported being stressed during pregnancy had babies with higher Cortisol levels? The last thing I want to do is give you one more thing to be anxious about. It’s always good to keep our stress level down, but especially while pregnant.
Give you and your baby the gift of centering breath while sharing a positive value like gratitude, love or faith. In class, mamas often tell me, this bonding time with their baby was their favorite.
And you can continue to use this practice after baby is born.
For me as a new mom, honestly, my kids often drove me crazy. I felt like I was about to snap and then would be mad at myself for being irritated with them. When I would take the time to focus in on an intention like patience, loving kindness, or playfulness, it would greatly improve my parenting.
Instead of struggling to change a diaper and control my squirmy little one, I would take a deep breath, remembering my intention, smile and react in a new more creative way or would feel an inner peace that connected me on a deeper level with my little one.
